Overview

STRUDS -Steel is a software for Design of Steel components such as Plane Truss, Steel Beam, Steel Column & Gantry Girder. Design conforms to latest IS codes.

PLANE TRUSS DESIGN
• In built library of 25 standard truss types such as Howe, Pratt, Fink etc. • User can also draw his own Truss geometry using in-built graphical data generator. • Automatic computation of Wind loads from basic parameters. • Automatic computation of roof load & purlin loads. • In built library of steel tables. • Section types supported are Rolled Sections, Rectangular Hollow sections & Tubular sections (Pipes). • Bill of materials of truss design is produced.

STEEL BEAM DESIGN
• Section types can be Rolled Sections and built up sections made up of I, C, angle & plate • Properties of built up sections are computed automatically • Beams subjected to linear & concentrated loads along & across the axis

COLUMN DESIGN
• Columns subjected to axial loads, axial or biaxial moments. • Column sections supported for direct design are Single I, Double I, two channels back to back or toe to toe, rectangular section of four angles and plus shape of four angles. • Any built up section made of I section, Channel section, plate & angle with any number of components can be checked for given loading. • Lateral support systems (lacing/battens) for columns. • Lacing can be single / double made up of angles or plates.

PLATE GIRDER DESIGN
• Computation of depth from basic parameters. • Design of web stiffeners. • Flexibility to change depth & thickness of plate members. • Results show ratio of permissible to actual stresses. • Complete design report gives properties of section, stresses & bill of materials.

GANTRY GIRDER DESIGN
• Automatic computation of wheel loads for 2/4 wheel trolley. • Crane can me electric / manually operated. • User can define built up sections made up of I section, Channel section, angle and plates. • Combined stress check is produced. • Complete design report gives properties of section, stresses & bill of materials.
