Overview

WisdomForce FastReader is a popular ultra high-performance data transfer and migration product used in critical IT operations. FastReader enables portable data cross multiple platforms in a heterogeneous environments and significantly improves data accessibility. It provides a fast and efficient way for unloading and extracting data into universally portable format for movement across the enterprise or for reorganization in place. FastReader delivers high levels of parallelism and distribution of data across different versions and platforms. FastReader can unload and extract all or selected Oracle tables of any size (terabytes of data) into portable flat text files (or into pipe ) in a fraction of the time without compromising the performance production database systems.

• FastReader performs fast parallel and selective unload of data from Oracle which effectively utilizes the multi-processor environment. and at least 20 times faster than UTL_FILE or sqlplus spool for full table unload.
• The data unload / load process with FastReader can significantly reduce storage needs and network overhead when used built-in fast compression on the fly.
• The user is able to easily configure the output data format which can be csv, xml, with any kind of delimiters, fixed length, EBCDIC character set and Comp-3 format.
• Extracted data is in portable ASCII format and can be transferred or migrated to any datasource without additional efforts.
• FastReader automatically prepares input for high-speed loaders such as Oracle SQL*Loader, bcp, etc. and dynamically generates schema definition scripts and creation scripts for Oracle external tables.
