Aerial Cartographics of America, Inc. (ACA) is a full service professional photogrammetric firm located in Orlando, Florida. For over thirty years ACA has built a reputation for quality products and reputable service. A creative and experienced team of skilled technicians and six Licensed Professionals work close together with our clients resulting in innovative solutions that keeps ACA on the cutting edge of technology. Aerial Photography: Our aircraft include a new Cessna 208B Grand Caravan outfitted with duel camera and sensor ports, a Cessna single engine and one helicopter. Navigational technology includes the use of Novatel survey grade GPS, and Tracker flight management systems. Aerial camera systems include two (2) Leica RC-30 aerial cameras utilizing FMC and gyro-stabilized mount. LAMP: (low altitude mapping photography) As a leader of this service in the Southeastern U.S., our low-level flights by helicopter utilizing an RC-30 camera has produced vertical accuracy’s of .02 feet. LiDAR: (laser mapping) services are performed using an airborne laser system that allows us to create three-dimensional digital terrain models of the bare earth. Hyperspectral imaging services using high-powered sensors and post-processing software to identify unique spectral features for agricultural applications such as diseased vegetation detection, chemical leaks and water & soil quality. Photographic Lab: Our full service color and black and white lab offers custom aerial film processing, electronically dodged contacts and diapositives, rectified enlargements, mosaics and indexing. Products available through our lab's Digital Service Department include scans to hard copy output. We specialize in large scale digital mosaicking produced from hundreds of multiple frames. From your aerial imagery or ours, we provide accurate, color corrected, final products available on CD in Mr.SID or as hardcopy products. Digital Mapping / Ortho Division: First order analytical plotters and softcopy workstations are used for all mapping products, DTM, DEM, Planimetric, Topographic, stockpiles and contouring. Analytical aerial triangulation is performed using JFK software, Rabits and Brats solutions. Products are commonly delivered in AutoCAD, Microstation, Arc/Info and many digital raster formats as well. Digital orthos are produced in black and white, color, and false color infrared. GIS Services: We offer Consulting, analysis, and the design of Geographic Databases. E-911, Forestry, and Environmental databases are our specialty. ACA offers a complete turn-key approach and solution for all of your GIS product requirements.

Towards a Global Licensing Framework for Geospatial Data

Is it time for a global licensing framework for geospatial data? The GSDI Legal and Economic Working group thinks so and offered a presentation and a way forward at the GSDI 13 conference held in Quebec City in May. The effort aims to harmonize existing licensing without changing fundamental access policies and funding models and be compatible with the diferences in national legal systems.
