GIS Consultants

GIS Consultants is an independent consulting firm that helps organizations implement and use Geographic Information Systems. The firm was founded by Bruce Joffe, whose GIS experience spans 30 years of service to government agencies, utilities and private companies, both on the West Coast and internationally. We provide organizational therapy and GIS public policy formulation, as well as strategic planning, implementation management, and educational services for using GIS technology. Our clients successfully use GIS to improve their internal operations and to provide useful services to the marketplace. Recent public policy consulting services include:

Our clients include counties of Alameda, San Mateo and Solano, Southern California Association of Governments, the NASA-Ames Research Center, U.S. Department of Housing, East Bay Municipal Utilities District, ASL Recycling, McLaren Insurance, SACGIS Consortium (City of Fremont/Alameda County Water District/Union Sanitary District), and the cities of Half Moon Bay, Palo Alto, San Francisco, Emeryville, Milpitas, and Oakland.

Bruce is Treasurer and Past-President of the BAAMA chapter of URISA, and recently served on the URISA Board of Directors as Secretary. Currently, he is Chair of the GIS Certification Institute. Mr. Joffe is a past Chair of the California Geographic Information Association, and he represented California on the FGDC Steering Committee. He is proud to be a member of GreenInfo Network's board of directors.
