Game engine maker Crytek came up with the idea to encourage use of open data in computer games. Now the idea is part of a contetst, IC tomorrow’s digital innovation games contest. The contest offers up to £25,000 to five businesses to create an innovative application that meets certain objectives, provided by companies including Google, Crytek, Sony and Intel. But the Crytek challenge is of interest to geospatial folks:

The contest (rules) is open to EU developers (not necessarily game companies). Deadline for submissions to the contest is 12 noon, Wednesday 16 October.
