GE Digital Energy Licenses Google Earth API to Enhance Visualization Experience for Geospatial Solutions

GE Digital Energy and Google signed an agreement allowing utility customers to access the Google Earth and Maps API to improve productivity and visualization. Editor in chief Joe Francica spoke with Bryan Friehauf, product line leader software for GE’s Digital Energy business, and Doug Daniels, head of GEO sales-America for Google about the announcement. This is a strategic relationship between GE and Google said Friehauf that cuts across multiple product lines. Key points according to the press release today indicated that the agreement would cover:

●      Initiative Supports GE’s Strategy to Simplify, Enhance and Improve Data Visualization

●      Agreement to License the Access to Google Maps API for Business Unites Global Geospatial Technology Solution Providers

●      Google’s Android Platform Will be Utilized by GE to Augment Existing Portfolio of Geospatial Systems
