Bing Maps Tweaks Streetside, But Silverlight Still Needed For Best Experience (Search Engine Land)

Microsoft offers the Windows Azure DataMarket, a growing repository of data sources and services which allows customers to purchase vector and tiled datasets using Open Data Protocol (OData) specifications. This week the company announced the DataMarket Mapper a visualization tool for the data.

The frontdoor app allows anyone on the web to help improve our address location results. The site allows you to drag a pin from where we think an address currently is to the front door of the property. You do this using our aerial imagery. Not every house is easy to see but many are very obvious.

It's part of the scarily named ReadWriteWorld effort , and the updates (once confirmed by multiple moves by multiple people) will be used in Microsoft search efforts and the results go directly into OSM under the new license.
