Newcastle Teams with OSGEO and other Education GIS News

We are pleased to announce the establishment of Open Source Geospatial Research and Education Laboratory at the University of Newcastle, United Kingdom. The laboratory is one of the members of a worldwide network developed under the auspices of the ICA-OSGeo Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

BBC Knowledge and Learning has commissioned Aardman Digital, the digital arm of Aardman Animations, to develop a suite of 21 online activities for a new geography section of its BBC KS3 Bitesize website.

Bitesize provides education support and revision materials for school-age students in the UK ...

It's not clear when the activities will be available or if they will be available to everyone worldwide.

The National Geospatial Technology Center and Jefferson Community and Technical College has a call for papers for a one day conference on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 with pre-conference workshops scheduled for Monday, June 10th and Tuesday, June 11th and post conference workshops scheduled for Thursday June 13th on the Southwest campus of Jefferson Community and Technical College in Louisville, Kentucky.
