Open Source Natural Language Geocoding from CLAVIN

Remember what MetaCarta offered (still does actually, just via owner Qbase)? Smart, contextually understood extraction of location from text? Now there's an open source solution that does the same thing.

CLAVIN (Cartographic Location And Vicinity INdexer) is an award-winning open source software package for document geotagging and geoparsing that employs context-based geographic entity resolution.

It was featured at both FOSS4GNA and at our Location Intelligence Conference. You can test it out on test of your own here. Of the two locations in my test, CLAVIN only found one.
