Over here in the U.S. the social media influence measuring "tool" is called Klout. In the UK there's a tool called PeerIndex. Here's the deal: If you have a high enough score in PeerIndex in influencing others in areas like cars, lifestyle, technology within Europe you can get a free hologram of the soon to be released (in Europe) B-Max, a mini MPV.
You visit Ford's Peer Index microsite, key in your Facebook or Twitter account info and if you hit the Peer Index standard AND are among the first 1000 people to do so, you get a hologram. Zebra Imaging has been taking this technology to GIS events for a few years and it's in wide use by the U.S. military. I picked the tech as "hot" at FedUC 2011.
I'm curious how this campaign will work for Ford and if it'll help Zebra Imaging, as well! I know my source for this story, Neville Hobson of the For Immediate Release podcast, was taken by the technology.
