West Virginia Fires microDATA GIS

The West Virginia Statewide Addressing and Mapping Board terminated its contract with microDATA GIS of St. Johnsbury, Vt. (Charleston Gazette) to create rural addresses. County officials noted missed deadlines and work with errors. The company was to finish the project, for which its already been paid about $3 million, by the end of this year. There was also discussion of a formal compliant or lawsuit.

The two parties had been in mediation in the past. It’s not clear how the addressing will be completed at this point, but another contractor may be hired.
