To help celebrate social media at the ESRI International User Contest we ran a contest for the best "tweets." With about 7,000 tweets bearing the #ESRIUC hash tag, along with a handful delivered via e-mail, during the contest period, there was a lot of reading to do! (I collected some of my favorites in daily roundups: Saturday/Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday,Thursday and Friday.)

But in the end, there could be just one winner and three runners up.The winner of our contest is a new tweeter, and he owes a debt of gratitude to @GISPathway who retweeted his comment with the hash tag,to make it eligible to win.

The winning tweet for 2009 comes from @gisteacher, aka Warren Roberts, a GIS specialist at the Libraries of the Claremont Colleges, in Claremont California. We've sent him a $100 American Express gift card. He wrote:
Wh[e]n someone thinks they know everything.. send them to the ESRI User Conference
Our three runner's up also had pithy comments. They'll each receive a geo-related book.
After a week of being around smart geofolk, it's going to be difficult dealing with normal folks
@gis_Todd, aka Todd Barr of KSI Koniag, Virginia
"There is no better place to be infected [by GIS] than at the user conference." ESRI user to Jack at the closing session.
