The objective of the conference it to gather all mapmakers from the print and digital world to explore new ways to deliver content, new ways to derive revenue from both print and digital, and new ways to design maps for a new audience in web, mobile, and print. Mapmakers of the world will gather in one place to exchange ideas on how to better serve a growing audience for geographic information.
As more people find news ways to use mobile platforms such as tablets and smartphones, location-based information will be embedded into more apps. Mapmakers must be cognizant of these new form factors to maintain cartographic standards. As such there will be new business models to consider.
