Median Home Prices - Worth Magazine - May 2002

Median Home Price by City
$3,300,000.00 to $4,000,000.00
$2,600,000.00 to $3,299,999.00
$1,900,000.00 to $2,599,999.00
$1,200,000.00 to $1,899,999.00
$500,000.00 to $1,199,999.00
In the May 2002 issue of Worth Magazine, a list of the 250 Richest Towns in the United States was compiled. The criterion for the list was based on median home value. The winner was Jupiter Island, Florida, where the median home was valued at $3.9 Million in this town of only 620 people, followed by Atherton, California in Silicon Value with a median home value of $3.4 Million. Montecito, California, Aspen, Colorado, and Los Altos Hills, California rounded out the top five. However, if you sorted the list by total land value (median home value x population), Sunnyvale, California was the richest, followed by Greenwich, Connecticut; California towns Santa Monica, Newport Beach, and San Mateo completed this new top five list.

I now live in Atherton, it's beautiful here. I see why the median prices are up, great place to be.
