Bmp2MIF version 2 is a standalone windows program to read a Mapinfo georegistered bitmap Image File and output CSV text file or Mapinfo MIF/MID files.
MIF format may have a map object for every pixel in the bitmap eg points or rectangles or it may be aggregated into outline vectors and Regions for each colour.
Conversion creates true polygons not raster stripes. Typical conversion time for a 1100 x 1100 raster is 0.8 secs. Mapinfo import requires Mapinfo Pro ver 4.5 or later.
New features in Version 2:
1. Now supports LAT/LONG maps as well as UTM
2. Support for bitmaps larger than 4000x4000
3. Splits regions to keep within Mapinfo's limit of 32,000 polygons/region
4. Six times faster
5. Requires 40% less memory
6. Export single colours
