The Natural Resources Database (NRDB) is a free GIS tool for developing and distributing environmental databases. The program supports the import and export of data to and from shapefiles. It also provides a tool for digitizing scanned maps. It supports both universal (UTM) and other transverse mercator projections. Data may be encoded or be imported from Excel files, Access databases, text files or other data sources. Information may be output as resource maps, graphs and reports using simple selections or powerful queries. The data is stored in an Access database that may be redistribted with the software.
