New Layout fixes one annoyance with the Maptitude GUI vis-a-vis layout creation. The standard GUI creates a layout for the default printer, with a 1/4" margins all around, no snap grid, and no rulers (and no way to change the defaults). This macro allows you to access all of these settings in a single place and to customize the default behavior. The utility has a second nice feature for those of us who primarily print to PDFs, say via PDFCreator. PDFCreator uses the window handle set by Maptitude as the default filename for the PDF output, so output is always "Untitled.pdf" by default. New Layout allows you to specify the name of the layout, which PDFCreator will then harvest and use. This utility is free and open-source, and released under GPLv3.
