(>0 to 90 degrees Longitude, 0 to 90 degrees Latitude) ETOPO5 is point elevation data (meters) generated from a digital data base of land and sea-floor elevations on a 5-minute latitude/longitude grid. The resolution of the gridded data varies from true 5-minute for the ocean floors, the U.S.A., Europe, Japan,and Australia to 1 degree in data-deficient parts of Asia, South America, northern Canada, and Africa. The Appalachian Ohio Geospatial Data Partnership (AOGDP) is a coalition of counties, regional and state agencies, and the private sector, formed to support the advancement of the use of GIS in southeastern Ohio. One of the founding partners, Thomas Fisher, who is also the Information Systems and Technology manager for the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District, describes how and why the partnership was formed.
