While I appreciate the coverage you folks provide of the geospatial industry, I've been surprised that the iPod/subway map issue only merited a cursory blog entry.
Reading [this] article in the Washington Post, I was blown away by the assertion that 50,000 people--in under two months--had downloaded the subway map for their iPods. That is a remarkable statistic when thinking about a whole new platform for delivering geographic content.
While it immediately reminded me of the old AAA Trip-Tiks, digital delivery opens up myriad possibilites for customized maps with niche themes.
And kudos to BART for being willing to provide their content in that format.
So that's my $0.10--I think there's something really interesting here.
