Description

In 2012, and as a result of the 2011 revolution, The first free presidential elections were carried out in Egypt.

13 candidates ran to office, This map shows the votes distribution among the highest 5 candidates over the country.

A Run-off is going to be contested between Mohamed Morsi and Ahmed Shafik on 16-17 June 2012, and the result will be announced on 21 June 2012.

Technology Used

The map was created using ArcGIS desktop 10.0.

Egypt boundaries data was obtained from GADM.ORG

Elections data was obtained from the state-owned newspaper “Al Ahram” , issue 25 May 2012, Arabic edition.
