Description

Flood Map is a web application that displays water level/elevation layer on Google Maps at the set elevation. Probably this application might be useful in flood risk assessment, flood control, water management or irrigation. It’s true that flood risk analysis is not as simple as just flood map or elevation map, but this application is easily accessible, very simple, handy and easy to use for general public to get a useful idea about flood risk in various areas. Even experts may use this as an instant handy tool to get initial idea.

Technology Used

The application uses NASA’s SRTM 3 elevation data with 90m resolution. The application is built with .Net. The overlay image tiles are dynamically generated.
