John O’Hara's Biography

As President of Pitney Bowes Business Insight (PBBI), John O’Hara brings 28 years of experience in the high tech industry.  John was appointed President in July 2010 following a tenure as Executive Vice President and General Manager International for Pitney Bowes Business Insight, a role he assumed shortly after joining Mapinfo Corporation in October 2006 and the subsequent acquisition by Mapinfo of Pitney Bowes.  Pitney Bowes Business Insight was formed from the merger of Mapinfo and Group1 Software.  While leading International, John led PBBI’s expansion strategies in Europe, The Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific (EMEA) focusing on key vertical markets across these geographies to best serve its global customers.  He was also responsible for the acquisition of three companies across International, including Graphical Data Capture (GDC) in the UK, Axciom GIS in France and Encom in Australia.  More recently he was involved in the acquisition of Portrait Software, a global UK-headquartered company specializing in customer interaction optimization.

Prior to PBBI, John served as General Manager, Enterprise and Partner Group (EPG) for Microsoft UK where he was responsible for more than $1 Billion in revenue, managing a team of 400 enterprise sales, marketing and services personnel selling to Enterprise customers.  Prior to Microsoft, John worked at Pivotal Corporation, a leader in CRM for mid-market enterprises, where he held the role of Executive Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Operations.  John also spent 11 years at Lotus Development Group and IBM serving in various roles, including General Manager, International Business Development Group, European Sales Director, Director Global Accounts and Managing Director Lotus UK.  During his career he has lived in London, Johannesburg and Paris.

John is currently a non Executive Director on the Board of Rosslyn Analytics, a private "software-as-a-service" software solutions and services business in the field of Spend Analytics.  He was previously on the Board of Talisma Corporation, a CRM company specializing in customer interaction management.  John has a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Chemistry from the University of Wales Institute of Science and Technology, Wales and a Master of Science degree from the University of Manchester, UK.
