In this interview Directions Magazine Editor-in-chief, Joe Francica, speaks with Bob Skinner, Group Vice President of Trimble Mobile Solutions (TMS). TMS is a division of Trimble Navigation and is engaged in delivering solutions for the fleet management market.

Skinner briefly discussed the recent acquisition of @Road by Trimble and how that will be assimilated into the Trimble organization. In addition, Skinner provides some detail about the costs savings that customers like Coca Cola and others in the ready mix (concrete/cement delivery) and consumer product goods market incur by using a location-based fleet management solution. Skinner discusses some of the unique competitive advantages of how Trimble can monitor aspects of the delivery truck's performance and how dispatchers can manage scheduling more effectively as routes are added.
