This week we look at the potential impact of the US federal government efforts to further protect citizen privacy, specifically privacy related to the collection of "precise geolocation data." The Management Association for Professional Photogrammetric Surveyors, MAPPS, states the requirement for prior citizen approval before collection is "an impractical and impossible requirement for private geospatial firms." Is this a real concern for the geospatial community or is MAPPS brewing a storm in a teacup?
