Company: Tetrad Computer Applications
Vancouver, BC--Using PCensus, the development staff of TETRAD Computer Applications has analyzed the newly released 2005 CanEx - Canadian Expenditure Data to reveal the top spending areas for government run lotteries.Applying Targeting to the expenditures per household of government-run lotteries in municipalities with more than 10,000 households shows that Blainville, Quebec spends the most, at $288 per household, on lotteries per year. In addition, the top ten locations for money spent on lotteries are all located in Quebec. PCensus is a demographic analysis package that lets the user describe a profile based on census variables (race, income, etc.), and set threshold values on key demographics.PCensus finds and ranks all the areas in the country that meet the demographic profile. "We asked PCensus to find and rank all the municipalities in Canada by expenditures per household of government-run lotteries", said Wilson Baker, Tetrad's President."Within seconds the results showed the top three spenders were Blainville, PQ ($288), Boucherville, Quebec ($263), and Mirabel, Quebec ($254). As compared to all of Canada, the top lottery municipalities were more than 38 percent greater than the average $175 per household spent in Canada. PCensus, when combined with the latest household expenditure data from MapInfo, is a powerful tool that can provide results for marketing goods or delivering community services to any geographical area.PCensus could just have easily found the highest-ranking census tract, dissemination area or postal FSA that matched a user defined Profile. PCensus demographics are licensed from MapInfo and Statistics Canada. The mapping features are powered by technology from MapInfo, Microsoft and ESRI.
