The Houston-Galveston Area Council Implements Tadpole Technology’s Enterprise GO! Sync Solution

 HGAC looks to improve geospatial data sharing and availability between public agencies. The Geospatial Solutions Division of Tadpole Technology Group today announces the implementation of GO! Sync (Edit) at the Houston-Galveston Area Council (HGAC), a regional council of Governments in the Texas Gulf Coast Region.The council encompasses 13 counties and extends across approximately 12,500 square miles, including a region with a population in excess of 5,000,000. Coordinating and distributing data among disparate public agencies in the HGAC planning region has been an increasingly pressing and difficult problem, exacerbated by the sheer size of the territory and population.As part of HGAC's ongoing efforts to better manage and maintain regional geospatial data, it has selected GO! Sync (Edit), Tadpole Technology's bi-directional data synchronization software, as its regional data transport and synchronization service.GO! Sync uses incremental updates to synchronize data between multiple ESRI ArcSDE instances, in this case over the Internet. "The urgent goal for HGAC and its member agencies was to enable the real-time exchange of information" states Max Samfield, HGAC's Data Services Director. "By implementing GO! Sync, our members will significantly improve data accessibility while reducing data maintenance and development costs." "In common with many other organizations, HGAC required the concurrent maintenance of spatial datasets from geographically dispersed sites,"says Susan Park, Business Unit Manager at Tadpole Technology Group "GO!
