EI Technologies Completes GIS Implementation Project for Kent County Water Authority

Kent County Water Authority (KCWA) announced today that EI Technologies, LLC of Parker, Colorado, has completed the implementation of a water infrastructure asset management system in ArcGIS.  KCWA will use the system to support its Call-Before-You-Dig program and as a core component of its water infrastructure decision support system.

EI Technologies converted more than 250,000 water features into the ArcGIS geodatabase format for the Authority.  The project involved database design and development, systems integration, technical support, and user training.  In addition, applications development involved the design and development of a customized ArcObjects application that uses EI Technologies’ CAMPS as the core technology.  The application was designed to help the Authority’s staff maintain accurate data in the GIS.  CAMPS is a commercial product that has modules for data migration, analysis, editing and plotting, as well as Web services. EI Technologies also integrated the GIS with the Authority’s utilities billing system.

KCWA supplies 10-20 million gallons of drinking water each day to residents and businesses in portions of the cities of Coventry, East Greenwich, West Greenwich, Warwick, West Warwick, Scituate, and Cranston in Rhode Island.  The Authority has about 30,000 services and about 26,000 active customers.

Nirav Shah, President of EI Technologies said, “We are proud to have been completed KCWA’s project on time and on budget.”  He added that, “EI Technologies’ goal is to always provide high-quality GIS data and superior customer service to our clients.  We look forward to working with KCWA in the future.”

EI Technologies, LLC is a Colorado-based firm that provides GIS strategic planning, data conversion/migration, applications development, Internet implementation and data hosting, training, and technical support to clients nationwide.  EI Technologies is focused on implementing geospatial decision support systems in local government and industry.  The company has completed more than 115 successful GIS projects.
