Smart, intuitive, highly flexible: the new HTML ImageMapper NG – AJAX by alta4 Geoinformatics Inc.
November 08, 2007

Company: alta4 Geoinformatik AG
Industry: Internet/Web Mapping/Web Services
Location: Trier, Germany

Simple operation, fast web map creation, optimum result – this has always been the concept of the web mapping extension HTML ImageMapper for the geographic information system ArcGIS by ESRI. Create attractive online GIS applications from your ArcMap project in no time. There is no other software as cost effective and easy to use. With the new version of the HTML ImageMapper NG – AJAX, alta4 puts this key to success consistently into practice once again. The authoring system of the software has been completely revised: Its operation is intuitive, comfortable and it offers appropriate default settings. It only takes a few clicks to create your first map. To those, however, who emphasize individual design and detailed adaptation, all possibilities are open as well.

Apart from your own website, other media can now also be used: A map segment from your own ArcMap project can be exported without a problem with the HTML ImageMapper to Google Earth – which is the epitome of a platform to make regional data available to a broad public. Apart from that, the HTML ImageMapper NG – AJAX creates image tiles conform to ArcGIS Server 9.2, which can be reused directly.

The new ImageMapper version makes functions available to the average user which, until now, could only be carried out through manual adaptation.

For instance, the integration of easily manageable style sheets responds to one of the most important customer requests. Thus, web maps with individual layouts can be produced without any programming knowledge. Once the style is determined, every map gets the same looks thanks to the saved style sheet.

The ThemeBrowser is for the first time fully integrated – without any additional work, web maps with different background maps are created quickly. Chronological alterations can thus be portrayed. Or you can fall back upon different data sources, e.g. topographical map and aerial picture.

Besides, the batch function enables the automatic processing of ImageMapper projects. That way, time-consuming processing can be postponed until night.
