Location: Redlands, California, United States of America

Worldwide Software Licensing Agreement Provides NAVTEQ Access to the ArcGIS Family of Products

Redlands, California—September 23, 2008ESRI announced today that NAVTEQ, a leading provider of premium-quality digital map data, has signed an enterprise license agreement (ELA) for ESRI’s ArcGIS suite of software products. This worldwide agreement allows NAVTEQ to utilize ArcGIS technology across the enterprise to build products beyond the core map database.

“We are pleased that ESRI and NAVTEQ are expanding their relationship with the execution of this long-term ELA,” says Amreesh Modi, chief technology officer, NAVTEQ. “The integration of ArcGIS technology and NAVTEQ GIS [geographic information system] tools helps us meet the data requirements of developers and solution providers across a wide variety of applications.”

The agreement ensures NAVTEQ has access to the most current suite of ArcGIS products worldwide for data development. Additionally, NAVTEQ has developed and implemented tools that allow interaction between the company’s proprietary editing tools and ArcGIS.

“NAVTEQ brings more than 20 years of experience to its long-standing alliance with ESRI,” says Jack Dangermond, president of ESRI. “The signing of this agreement illustrates the close, collaborative relationship we have with NAVTEQ, which is instrumental to both companies’ continued success in meeting our customers’ needs and providing the best possible solutions.”
