The GeoInformation® Group, publishers of Cities Revealed aerial photography (http://www.citiesrevealed.com), is pleased to announce that it’s training division, Training4GIS, will be hosting it’s annual Cities Revealed Event on 12 and 13 February 2009 at Madingley Hall, Cambridge. This ninth annual event brings together spatial data users and leading industry experts from across the UK. The agenda reflects many of the key issues and challenges facing today's GI community. With a wealth of engaging topics on offer, the event looks at the most up-to-date geoinformation technology, research and management techniques available. User case studies and practical workshops cover a wide range of themes led by our technical specialists and also incorporates external industry experts. Topics include: · A keynote on INSPIRE: next steps in information interoperability · Modelling an extreme flood, presented by London Borough of Brent · A practical workshop on interpreting thermal images · Building a 3D world, led by Bentley, and · Creating clear cartography, run by The British Cartographic Society The producer of Britain From Above, as seen on BBC1, will also be giving a behind-the-scenes look at how geographic data was used to create stunning images from the skies above. The Cities Revealed Event has gained a reputation for providing stimulating and informative content over the years combined with a sense of enjoyment and an excellent learning opportunity.
