USGS National Geospatial Program (NGP) Updates The National Map Website
December 15, 2008

Company: U.S. Geological Survey
Industry: Federal Government, Internet/Web Mapping/Web Services, Interoperability and Data Integration, Internet Portals
Location: Vienna, VA, United States of America

In a determined effort to renovate and enhance the usability of The National Map, the National Geospatial Program (NGP) of the U.S. Geological Survey has recently released a new version of The National Map web site. This is the first major web site revision since the initial release of The National Map project a few years ago.

The primary objective of the refreshed site is to provide a more up-to-date and relevant layout to support uncomplicated navigation through the site and related geospatial pages. The organization of the site has been modified to better highlight the types of products and services currently available as the NGP undergoes reorganization.

This latest version is just the first phase of a multi-phase deliberate plan to augment the USGS geospatial web presence. The site can be found at nationalmap.gov/ . We welcome your comments to improve the site, please direct those remarks and suggestions to our e-mail drop-box at nationalmap@usgs.gov
