MINNEAPOLIS -- VirtualFund.com, Inc.(Nasdaq: VFND - news), a diversified technology company, today announced that ColorSpan Corporation, the principal operating subsidiary of its Digital Graphics Business Unit (DGBU), won DIMA Shootout awards for its 36-inch wide-format printer, software, media and ink for the fourth consecutive year at PMA '99 in Las Vegas, February 18-21.Winning in four categories, ColorSpan received an award for the Giclee PrintMakerFA(TM) in the ``36-inch wide'' category, and three DIMA Shootout Awards for ColorSpan® Endura.Chrome ink, ColorMark® Pro 4000 RIP and ColorMark Photo Display Gloss media.In addition to the DIMA Shootout awards, ColorSpan received two Cool2* Awards from Photo Electronic Imaging (PEI) magazine for the third consecutive year.This year's Cool2 Awards went to the DisplayMaker 7000 digital color printer and Giclee PrintMakerFA. DIMA (Digital Imaging Marketing Association) conducted its fourth annual Shootout for wide-format digital color printing in conjunction with the Photo Marketing Association (PMA) conference in Las Vegas.Each participant in the Shootout was given 24 hours to print and finish an image file provided by DIMA on a CD-ROM.DIMA is a section of PMA that focuses on digital imaging and technology platforms for all trade groups served by PMA.Winners were chosen from 90 prints from 32 companies displayed during the DIMA Annual Conference in Las Vegas, Nev., Tuesday and Wednesday, Feb.16-17 based on ballots cast by the members of PMA's Association of Photo CD Imagers and Digital Imaging Marketing Association. Photo Electronic Imaging magazine awarded a Cool2 award to ColorSpan for the third year.This year's winner for the ``Most Desirable Imaging Product of 1998'' in the category for printers under $25,000 was the DisplayMaker 7000 HiRes 8-Color printer.In the category for printer under $35,000 the award was presented to ColorSpan's Giclee PrintMakerFA drum-based printer designed for the fine art market.Products were nominated by a panel comprised of PEI editors and contributing editors with votes tallied and winners chosen based on the panel's collective observations of each nominated product.Key factors in the decision were quality, innovation, improvement, ease of use, and broadness in scope.
