Apisphere to provide Mobile Traffic Network with location-smart messaging
April 01, 2009 |
|
Company: Apisphere Inc.
Apisphere, Inc., (Booth #4430 at CTIA 2009) a leading provider of location-smart services for mobile applications, has announced it will be supplying custom traffic and news report provider Mobile Traffic Network (MTN) with location-smart messaging for its upcoming mobile traffic alert service. The MTN service will automatically send custom audio and text alerts regarding upcoming traffic problems to a subscriber’s mobile phone based on their location. The ad-supported application will be free to any mobile user. “To date, the only way for mobile users to stay informed of local traffic conditions without having a navigation application running is either through radio traffic reports or through having traffic alerts on predetermined routes and times pushed to their phones. Many times, current traffic alerts are not timely or relevant for a user’s current location,” said George Ranallo, President of Mobile Traffic Network. “With Apisphere’s location-smart technology, MTN will bring traffic reporting to the next level by introducing customized traffic alerts based on a user’s location.” MTN is owned by Global Traffic Network, a leading provider of custom traffic and news reports to radio and television stations outside the U.S. Using Apisphere’s location-smart technology, MTN will create intelligent alert zones and push real-time traffic data to subscribers as they are approaching an incident. “The MTN traffic service is an excellent example of how location-smart technology can be integrated with mobile devices and traditional services to eliminate needless hassles and make people’s lives easier, safer and more enjoyable,” said Craig Harper, CEO, Apisphere. “By bringing Apisphere’s location-smart technology to the MTN traffic service, we are giving drivers the ability to easily avoid traffic pitfalls and improve the quality of their lives – or at the very least enable them to make it home in time for dinner.” For more information on MTN Alerts, please visit: http://www.mobiletrafficnetwork.com and to see an online demo of the Mobile Traffic Network visit: apisphere.com/mtn_flash/index.html. About Mobile Traffic Network Mobile Traffic Network is a wholly owned subsidiary of Global Traffic Network. The Mobile Traffic Network team has developed a proprietary Alerting and Information Platform for which it has filed multiple patents worldwide. The first commercial product and service will be the MTN Traffic Service which will provide audio and text alerts based upon a user’s location. About Apisphere Inc.
