HP Expands Designjet Partner Solution Certification Program to Reduce Costs and Improve Performance
April 29, 2009

Company: Hewlett-Packard Co
Industry: Architecture / Engineering / Construction, Geospatial Technology
Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States of America

PITTSBURGH, Pa., April 29, 2009 – HP today announced that it is extending its successful Designjet certification program to include the new HP Designjet T1120, 4020 and 4520 Printer series.

The HP Designjet certification initiative includes production workflow and cost control solutions that provide graphics professionals, print service providers and technical designers enhanced and assured levels of functionality and interoperability when they select one of these HP-certified third-party products.

The announcement was made at the International Reprographic Association’s Annual Trade Show in Pittsburgh.

“The HP Designjet certification program continues to build upon HP’s commitment to offer our customers a first-class level of assured compatibility when they select an HP-certified product from these leading providers,” said Patrick Hester, director, Large Format Printing, Imaging and Printing Group, HP. “The new certified partners announced today demonstrate that they also share our commitment to delivering an enhanced user experience for our HP Designjet customers by delivering efficient, easy to use and cost-effective printing solutions.”

Today, three production workflow solutions, including SCP reprocontrol.net, RATIO PLOTBASE PM and PLP PlotWorks, are certified to support the new HP Designjet 4020 and 4520 Printer series. The solutions are designed to meet essential performance and image quality expectations of the new HP Designjet printers and provide advanced job editing, print management and accounting capabilities for both enterprise and repro-house customers.

In addition, HP has certified three cost-control and cost-recovery software applications that support the HP Designjet T1120, 4020 and 4520 Printer series, including Sepialine’s Argos Cost Recovery System, Technesis Print Control System with iBridge for HP Designjet, and CapellaTechnologies MegaTrack. These certified partner applications provide advanced accounting features that enable job tracking, billing and usage data designed to work with the HP Designjet devices. Additionally, HP Designjet printers enable reprographers to optimize CAD and graphics color production departments with pay-per-use and facility-management tools.

Only third-party companies who have demonstrated conformance with HP’s test criteria are awarded HP Designjet certified status.

This certification program expands HP’s already extensive solution development program that provides third-party software developers access to hardware, Software Development Kits (SDKs), and additional resources to assist in the creation of solutions compatible with HP large-format printers.
