CMC International is now featuring enhanced and updated demographic data from Applied Geographic Solutions. AGS has recently released all demographic updates for data sets which include 2009 Estimates and 2014 Projections. In addition, new data packages are available which include MRI Profile Data, Foreclosures and High Risk Mortgages.

Retail sales estimates have been added to the BusinessCounts database and are based on a computation of average sales per employee by state and NAICS code. Business, consumer spending, demographic, and segmentation data will help businesses analyze markets, profile customers, evaluate competitors, and identify opportunities. It also creates the opportunity of accurately assessing a trade area’s current and potential business environment by examining existing businesses and services, the competitive presence, and retail activity. Finally, consumer spending data enables you to accurately assess the demand for products and services for a given market area by providing information about current national-level household and consumer spending for a particular product or service.

New data sets include a database that provides a snapshot of Foreclosures and High Risk Mortgages based on data from HUD. This is a fast moving area. This data is from the fall of 2008, but clearly reflects the local differences in foreclosure rates within metropolitan areas.

The MRI consumer profile data has been enhanced. The MRI Consumer Behavior Database consists of 4,377 profiles across a broad spectrum of behavioral categories. Variable names have also been updated.

The complete line of data also includes Consumer Expenditures (CEX), INSOURCE Consumer Profiles, Simmons Consumer Profiles, Assets & Debts/Net Worth, Crime Risk, WeatherRisk, Climate, MOSAIC Segmentation, Retail Potential, and Demographic Dimensions.

Databases are available down to the block group levels and specific variables. Businesses can purchase the entire database, or choose just the variables they need. The databases are provided in a variety of formats, so the data can immediately be put to use for visualization and analyses with GIS software such as ArcView and MapInfo Professional.
