ISTAR Americas Sales & Marketing Team Continues to Grow

Herndon,VA- ISTAR Americas has hired Erik Anderson as Senior Accounts Manager and Sara Johnson as Applications & Sales Support Engineer. Anderson joined ISTAR Americas in March, and Johnson came onboard in late April. "We're very pleased to add Erik and Sara to our growing team of spatial data experts," said Mark Eustis, ISTAR Americas' Vice-President of Sales & Marketing."They're both experienced, knowledgeable, and already working with a broad range of our end users." Based in Denver, Anderson is responsible for developing new accounts in the Midwest region, focusing on Utilities, City and County governments, and E911 preparedness systems.His position is similar to the one he held for the past two years with TeleAtlas North America.As Midwestern Regional Manager, Anderson directed sales and licensing in 13 states for the TeleAtlas line of vector street database products. Prior to that position, Anderson worked as OEM Sales Manager for Ashtech, a developer of high-precision GPS equipment.During five years in the GPS market, he was project manager on new systems development, built new markets for airborne GPS applications, and developed an impressive familiarity with the surveying, navigation and aviation industries.He also has a military background as a navigator in the Air National Guard. Sara Johnson is based in the ISTAR Americas Herndon, Virginia, headquarters. Her responsibilities include technical support to the ISTAR user community, coordination of applied technical development programs, and various marketing support tasks. Prior to ISTAR Americas, Johnson spent several years with ERDAS Inc., a developer of geospatial image processing software.In this capacity, she performed duties as an IMAGINE Product Specialist and Account Manager. Johnson holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in Geography. Headquartered in Herndon, Va., ISTAR Americas Inc.maintains an archive of high-resolution TrueOrtho' images and 3D surface models for over 80 of the largest US cities.ISTAR operates a number of High Resolution Stereo Camera (HRSC) airborne scanner systems in North America.HRSC digital cameras have been developed to ISTAR specifications under an agreement with DLR, the German Space Agency, and acquire raw data used in ISTAR's automated TrueOrtho' production system.Pre-processed TrueOrtho' images and 3D surfaces for cities in archive are available within 36 hours of order.
