Kalispell,MT--Earth Search Sciences, Inc.(OTC Bulletin Board: EDIS - News) a leading commercial provider of revolutionary hyperspectral remote sensing technology, today announced that it has been awarded a contract by Space Imaging Inc.of Thornton, Colorado, to complete a baseline survey of the Hayman wildfire area southeast of Denver, Colorado. The initial contract amount is for approximately $100,000.Space Imaging is considered to be a world leader in digital Earth information and is the operator of the "IKONOS" satellite. According to the U.S.Forest Service, the Hayman fire has consumed 137,760 acres and has become Colorado's worst fire ever. The hyperspectral imagery can be used to assess and measure damage to forest and other types of land cover. It can also be used for fire modeling, disaster preparedness and insurance and risk management. If more data collections occur over the fire area in the future, this survey will provide a baseline with which to measure rates of recovery of various types of vegetation. "We look forward to contributing to the recovery program around such a disaster. This is one of the highest and best uses of our technology," said Larry Vance, Chairman of ESSI."Comparison of the airborne-collected hyperspectral data with the high-resolution imagery from IKONOS can also be used to evaluate mitigation measures underway to reduce the likelihood of severe erosion in certain areas," he stated. While existing satellite and remote sensing technology provides the ability to identify objects primarily by shape or spectral response, the revolutionary hyperspectral imaging, by measuring the degree of spectral reflectance of solar energy across the spectrum, allows Earth Search to identify materials by their diagnostic reflectance patterns.Earth Search hyperspectral information products can be used for a variety of resource, environmental, and security applications. This news release includes forward-looking statements that involve a number of risks and uncertainties. The information reflects numerous assumptions as to industry performance, general business and economic conditions, regulatory and legal requirements, taxes and other matters, many of which are beyond the control of the company.Similarly, this information assumes certain future business decisions that are subject to change. There can be no assurance that the results predicted here will be realized.Actual results may vary from those represented, and those variations may be material.
