Boston,MA--Syncline®, Inc.today announced that it has released Version 1.6 of MapCiti™ (www.mapciti.com), the company's fully automated e-government mapping service.MapCiti enables organizations to immediately and cost-effectively Web-enable their geographic information system (GIS) and provide essential services and information to internal departments and the general public without additional investments in technology.

Syncline developed this updated version of MapCiti in response to customer requests for additional functionality.The new release includes features that save users time and make MapCiti easier to use.Customers have access to these features immediately and without additional charge as part of their subscription to MapCiti.

The new features include an auto-update capability for maps, which lets users update all previously-created maps when a data layer is changed.A broader selection of map viewers is also now available, so customers can choose between a Java applet or an HTML viewer to deliver their maps online.Finally, an "abutters list" function has been added, which can be used with the MapCiti Parcel Viewer.With this feature, users can easily create a mailing list of those who need to be notified of upcoming property improvements.
