Company: Cardio Logic Inc
San Carlos,CA--Cardio Logic, Inc.announced the release of a new software product to orthorectify and mosaic images created by DigitalGlobe's high resolution QuickBird satellite. With the recent emphasis on the need for geo-location accuracy, and the availability of very precise imagery from the QuickBird satellite, the release of Cardio Logic's Mojave QB software adds a new ability to precisely locate objects of interest within an image. Operating from a low cost Windows based PC or lap top computer Mojave QB software will input a raw satellite image and then apply high speed processing algorithms to both the image and rigorous sensor metrics provided by DigitalGlobe. The output is a precisely rectified and geo-referenced array of digital pixels that forms a corrected image for viewing, mosaics, or further processing. Each pixel is modified by the software to correct for inherent errors caused by platform stability, pointing angle anomalies or optical distortions.Defined by DigitalGlobe and supplied with the raw image as part of their Rigorous Sensor Model (RSM), the auxiliary data is used by Mojave to generate a Sensor Error Model (SEM) that is then used in the orthorectification process. "Typically a raw QuickBird image might provide geo-location accuracies of 30 meters, which is exceptionally good, explains Don Gordon, VP of engineering at Cardio Logic."But our Mojave QB software will further improve the accuracy by also applying terrain information from Digital Elevation Models, (DEM) and known ground control point data (GCP) to the orthorectification process." By adding your own ground truth data and the Rigorous Sensor Model information to the image the highest possible level of accuracy can be achieved."It is not uncommon to see sub-pixel geo-location accuracy when two or more ground control points are used as part of the orthorectification process," says Don."Our test and evaluation results indicate that Mojave QB offers a significant improvement over raw imagery for geo-referencing purposes and greatly enhances the rapid creation of mosaics." Mojave QB and other software is available for purchase and free evaluation licenses may be downloaded from Cardio's web at www.cardiofx.com For technical or application information Don Gordon may be reached at dgordon@cardiofx.com or by phone at 650 622 9078.
