Seattle, Washington -- Doric Computer Systems, the makers of the INFO family of data access products, continue to enhance the control and performance features available to ARC/INFO users for management of their coverage & attribute data.Version 2.09 of INFO~ODBC is scheduled for release July 26th, 1999.
Working with ESRI's consulting group in Redlands, the development team at Doric added the transaction control features needed to complete ESRI's US ARMY Modal Transportation project.A high performance indexing scheme that can be applied to the current flat file structure of ARC/INFO's coverage data was also in the works and made it into this new release.
Now ESRI users have a powerful multi-user data management tool that allows 100's of familiar Windows applications such as Excel, Visual Basic, MapObjects, and Crystal Reports to read and write directly to ARC/INFO coverages.
This version is an upgrade from Version 1.1 and available at no cost to current customers with an annual support agreement.INFO~ODBC V2 lists for $375 with significant quantity discounts available.Doric offers two versions; DIRECT, for clients on local Windows networks and SERVER, for those customers running a TCP/IP network or simply needing a more robust centrally managed solution.
