How has your usage of Google Maps changed since Google changed its data source from a well-known vendor to itself?
I use it the same way as before.
I use it about the same, but now I report errors.
I use it less.

SpatialPoint Announces Support for Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Spatial Enhancements
Capabilities Include Visualizing Data from SQL Server Using the Virtual Earth Platform and SpatialPoint Atlas

Chicago, IL – November 12, 2007SpatialPoint, a Microsoft Certified Partner, today announced support for the Microsoft SQL Server 2008 spatial enhancements.  The newly added spatial support in SQL Server will make geospatial functionality more accessible to the Microsoft developer and SQL Server user. SpatialPoint leverages this new functionality and augments it by making it easy to visualize data from SQL Server utilizing the Microsoft Virtual Earth Platform.

SpatialPoint’s Atlas technology allows users to visualize even the most complex datasets on top of the Virtual Earth Platform. Users get the advanced 3D capabilities, imagery, and base maps delivered by Virtual Earth combined with their own spatial data.  Atlas is proven technology that is currently used by leaders in wireless, insurance, and hospitality to visualize coverage areas, perform risk analysis, and display franchise territories. Atlas will read data from SQL Server 2008 just as it would from any other spatial data source.

“We believe that the spatial capabilities of SQL Server 2008 will expose spatial functionality to a whole new set of users.” said Alex Machinis, SpatialPoint’s President and CEO. “We are excited about the opportunity to help these users get the most out of the technology.” he added.

“SpatialPoint has been working with Microsoft’s mapping products for several years,” said Kim Saunders, senior director of SQL Server marketing at Microsoft. “Working with the SQL Server spatial capabilities has allowed it to develop a solution that utilizes both SQL Server and Virtual Earth to visualize datasets.”

SpatialPoint expects to fully support SQL Server 2008 shortly after it is released. For a live demonstration of SpatialPoint’s Atlas, go to http://www.spatialpoint.com/atlasdemos.aspx.
