NVision Solutions Announces New CIO in Response to Rapid Company Growth May 20, 2008

Lawhead to the position of Chief Information Officer (CIO). Former CIO, Craig A. Harvey, moves to the Chief Operations Officer (COO) post and will remain as an Executive Vice President. During the first half of fiscal year 2008, NVision has experienced rapid growth of more than 40 percent and has seen an expansion of their customer base to a national level to include clients such as NASA, NOAA, FEMA, the Department of Defense, and prominent private companies. “For our clients and others who work closely with NVision, this promotion will come as no surprise as Mr. Lawhead continues to excel at each level of management he has been asked to fill within our company,” said Socorro Harvey, President and CEO of NVision Solutions. “We recruited nationally for this position and interviewed many qualified candidates, however in the end, Mr. Lawhead’s advanced technical knowledge of NVision Solutions, our corporate culture, and his affable nature made him the clear choice for NVision’s future.” Joel Lawhead, originally from Oxford, Mississippi, received a B.A. in print journalism from Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama in 1998. He began his career in website development by assisting with The Sun Herald newspaper's award-winning website "SunHerald.com". When presented with the opportunity to join NVision Solutions, a true start-up company, he jumped at the chance to build user-friendly, cost-effective web applications using proven standards. In 2002, Mr. Lawhead became the first non-executive employee at NVision Solutions. As the senior member of the technical staff, Mr. Lawhead helped drive innovation and eventually became the Program Manger over NVision’s award winning staff which has garnered numerous industry awards including the 2006 Tibbetts Award for Excellence in federal research, Technology Innovator of the Year awards for both Mississippi and Louisiana, and a number of industry-leading ESRI awards including Business Partner of the Year and Special Achievement in GIS. During his tenure at NVision Solutions, the company has lost only one employee as they have more than tripled in size.
