Zoombak(TM) Universal A-GPS Locator Wins CES Innovations 2009 Design and Engineering Award
November 12, 2008

Company: Zoombak LLC
Industry: GPS
Location: New York, NY, United States of America

NEW YORK,NY--Zoombak™ (http://www.Zoombak.com) today announced that its versatile tracking product, the Universal A-GPS Locator, has been awarded Honoree status at the CES Innovations 2009 Design and Engineering Awards. The Awards, administered by the Consumer Electronics Association, recognize groundbreaking consumer products that exhibit high overall product quality, unique features and user value.

Zoombak received its award today at the 2009 CES International New York Press Preview held at The Metropolitan Pavilion Center in New York. As an Innovations Honoree, the Zoombak Universal A-GPS Locator will also be featured in the Innovations 2009 Showcase during the 2009 International CES®, January 8-11, 2009 in Las Vegas.

The Zoombak Universal A-GPS Locator, already the leading product in the Personal GPS Category, enables users to monitor, track and/or locate virtually anything of value from cars, motorcycles and other vehicles to luggage, backpacks, sports equipment, and even pets. Through Zoombak's interactive Web site, users can set up custom safety zones around virtually any location including homes, parks, malls and schools. When the Universal A-GPS Locator crosses one of the virtual boundaries, a text message or email alert promptly notifies users where the device is currently located. Consumers can also pinpoint their Zoombak's location at any time on-demand from either their mobile phone or zoombak.com.

Zoombak’s Universal A-GPS Locator was included in the In-Vehicle Navigation/Telematics/ITS category of the Innovations 2009 Design and Engineering Awards, now in its 14th year. Endorsed and monitored by the Industrial Designers Society of America, the Awards recognize consumer electronics products with exceptional engineering, aesthetic and design qualities, function, user value, and novel features. Judges are independent and come from the trade press as well as the professional engineering and design communities.

“Of the range of locator products Zoombak offers, the Universal A-GPS Locator is perhaps the most unique. Its multi-purpose capability makes it incredibly practical for dozens of personal uses,” said Simon Buckingham, CEO of Zoombak. “We’re thrilled that CES, the world’s premier consumer technology tradeshow, has acknowledged the power of the Universal A-GPS Locator with this top industry honor.”

On store shelves in time for the 2008 holiday shopping season, the Zoombak Universal A-GPS Locator is affordably priced at $199 plus a low-cost monthly service plan. The product is the only Personal GPS Locator now available nationwide at leading consumer electronics, automotive and pet specialty retailers including RadioShack, Target, Pep Boys, PetSmart, Al & Ed's Autosound, Brookstone, Cabela's, Crutchfield, Hammacher Schlemmer, J&R Music World, Micro Center, Nebraska Furniture Mart (a Berkshire Hathaway company), Sports Chalet, Amazon.com, BestBuy.com, CircuitCity.com, and Walmart.com.

In addition to its appearance at the 2009 International CES Press Preview, Zoombak will be showcasing its Universal A-GPS Locator, as well as its Advanced GPS Car & Family Locator, January 8-11, 2009 at the company’s 2009 International CES exhibit, Booth North 1007 in the Las Vegas Convention Center.
