September 04, 2002 |
|
Company: Esri
Module Is a Plugin From RouteSmart Technologies, Inc., and Infinite Enterprises Redlands,CA--ESRI has announced that two business partners have developed a territory planning module that complements ArcLogistics Route. The business partners are RouteSmart Technologies, Inc., and Infinite Enterprises.ArcLogistics Route has primarily been a dynamic routing application for fleets, and this new functionality opens many additional markets that existing and potential users have been asking for. The territory planning module takes advantage of the RouteSmart partitioning techniques and Infinite Enterprises' expertise in plugin and MapObjects development, within the familiar ArcLogistics Route graphical user interface. The territory planning module will allow users to create territories with tens of thousands of customers and to geographically balance them while maintaining business rules that the user selects. In addition, it will allow users to "balance" daily routes based on user business rules such as hours of operation, number of stops, revenue generated, and more. "Customers have been asking for this functionality, and now we have a very affordable solution for territory planning for small to large businesses and our local government users," says Karl Terrey, ArcLogistics Route product manager, ESRI.The territory planning module is launched from within ArcLogistics Route and allows users to deliver results directly back into ArcLogistics Route or create a shapefile for use with other ESRI products such as ArcView Business Analyst and ArcGIS. "Now we have both a strategic modeling and design tool and a tactical daily routing suite of products to offer our customers, all within the familiar ArcLogistics Route interface," says Jefferson Santiago, president, Infinite Enterprises. "We have been working closely with ESRI for many years, and this will bring the best of both solutions to a broad market segment," says Chris Walz, vice president, RouteSmart Technologies, Inc.The RouteSmart partitioning techniques are extremely fast and efficient, delivering results in minutes. The module is available directly from either RouteSmart Technologies, Inc., or Infinite Enterprises.
