3-GIS, a GIS software solutions company based in Decatur, Alabama and Survey And Mapping, Inc. (SAM, Inc.), a nationally recognized provider of geospatial data services, headquartered in Austin, Texas, have announced a strategic partnership that will allow SAM, Inc. to resell 3-GIS software solutions.

The ability to integrate the 3-GIS Express Solution software through this VAR will enhance SAM, Inc.’s capabilities to provide implementation, data acquisition, migration, conversion, and hosting services, as well as placing SAM, Inc. as the first line of support for its clients using 3-GIS software. These services will complement SAM, Inc.’s core business which includes airborne and mobile LiDAR, traditional surveying, subsurface utility engineering (SUE), utility coordination, and construction services. The agreement will also allow the firm to offer an integrated, Esri-based GIS solution to the electric and gas distribution, telecommunications, electric transmission, oil and gas pipeline, and transportation industries.

The decision to become a 3-GIS Express Solution software reseller was based on a number of factors, including that the Express Solution provides robust functionality through configuration without requiring custom programming; allows mobile users to capture, edit, and update data in an extremely efficient and cost effective manner; and is functional on multiple mobile platforms, tablet computers, and smartphone devices using Windows Mobile, Android, and iOS operating systems.

According to SAM, Inc. President Samir “Sam” G. Hanna, “We’re very excited about this new partnership and the enhancements it will bring to our GIS capabilities.”

3-GIS Chief Technical Officer, Tommy Siniard added, “We are extremely pleased about this strategic partnership. Together we will be able to offer a comprehensive solution of product and services to the utility and telecommunications markets.”
