AeroMetric’s le Roux Elected Deputy Director of ASPRS Primary Data Acquisition Division

– Aero-Metric, Inc. (AeroMetric) Vice President Pierre le Roux was elected Deputy Director of American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) Primary Data Acquisition Division (PDAD). Le Roux, who will serve as ASPRS Deputy Director of PDAD, is Vice President and Director of Integrated Geospatial Solutions at AeroMetric. AeroMetric’s solutions integrate a wide array of sensor, information (IT) and communication technologies to geospatially enable clients’ (which include both the private and public/government sectors) business processes, operations and decision support systems.

Le Roux also has extensive experience with applied photogrammetry and remote sensing through involvement in a number of efforts including, most recently, supporting the Deepwater Horizon Spill response as Integrated Intelligence, Surveillance, Remote Sensing (ISR)/Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) Management Advisor. In his new role, le Roux says, “I will work together with the PDAD Director and the ASPRS community to apply lessons we have learned from recent remote sensing and surveillance missions.” Le Roux added, “I hope to promote ASPRS as a thought leader in remote-sensing, surveillance solutions, and Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) deployment for both traditional and non-traditional applications.” Le Roux has over 30 years experience in a variety of IT areas including strategic planning and management, emergency response management, land administration and management, cadastral and land tenure reform, land information and land records management, business process re-engineering, complex enterprise IT management, information supply and information value chains, GIS/geomatics/mapping, ICT solutions development and delivery, remote sensing, and International project management. In addition to serving as the Deputy Director of ASPRS PDAD, le Roux is also a Registered Professional Land Surveyor and Certified Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP) and current member of a number of other professional organizations.
