DMTI Spatial Inc. | Markham, Ontario, Canada

Markham, ON Canada – October 5th, 2007. DMTI Spatial (DMTI), a leading provider of location intelligence, has been selected by Altus Group to provide geographical data to enhance their automated property valuation models. Using DMTI’s Location Hub™ platform, Altus Group can map geographic data including addresses, point of interest, municipal boundaries, and other location information on behalf of real estate boards, mortgage and insurance companies allowing them to make informed decisions on behalf of their clients.

Specializing in the valuation of premier properties and portfolios, Altus Group provides a broad range of real estate valuation, property-tax and market research services. The company has also developed an automated valuation model (AVM) to determine the value of residential properties. AVM results are used as a decision making tool by realtors, appraisers and mortgage companies when assessing value or risk related to properties. Strategic market information can also be derived. With the Location Hub platform from DMTI, the company can identify all missing address records and provide infill information that could represent new market opportunities for their customers. For example, within the Quebec market valid property addresses not listed or recorded may be dispersed in between known addresses. Once identified with Location Hub data, the company can re-assess its models and provide new data for more accurate decision making.

Location Hub supports Altus Group’s innovative and state of the art statistical modeling and its aggressive integration of Location Intelligence. Altus Group’s AVM services are currently used by the Greater Montreal Real Estate Board in providing its board members an edge through access to sound and unmatched market information. Altus Group’s AVM service VALERI was designed for the benefit of participating real estate boards and their designated partners.

“In order to provide clean, comprehensive and accurate data to our customers we needed to enhance our existing proprietary valuation systems with the best nation-wide geographic datasets available today. We chose Location Hub because the platform can be easily integrated into our existing processes and provides many functions including supporting address recognition, address standard validation, point of interest recognition, address geocoding, location analysis and much more to support our evolving client requirements,” explained Robert Dorion, President, Knowledge Management, Altus Group.
