Utility modernizing with newest and most advanced release of Telvent’s ADMS
– Telvent GIT, S.A., a leading real-time IT solutions and information provider for a sustainable world, announced today that Austin Energy is implementing the latest release of its advanced distribution management system (ADMS) to modernize its existing distribution grid and improve its overall system performance, availability and security.
Using Telvent smart grid solutions, Austin Energy, the eighth largest community-owned electric utility in the U.S., will be able to better meet the business and support needs of its distribution system operations. With the capability to process and model an increasing amount of real-time data, as well as forecast near-term energy demand in the presence of distributed energy resources, the ADMS allows the utility to more efficiently operate the grid and support the deployment of renewable energy throughout the distribution network.
As the only full-featured ADMS (combining DMS, OMS, and SCADA) on the market, a competitive benchmark evaluation showed Telvent’s solution was the best suited to meet the utility’s current and future system requirements, including regulatory, performance and reporting standards.
According to Telvent's Chairman and CEO, Ignacio Gonzalez, “We are pleased to begin our relationship with Austin Energy and look forward to helping the utility continue the development of its smart grid distribution system. Our industry-leading solutions will continue to help utilities respond to the increasing consumer demand for energy and ensure that our technology will continue to guide the modern smart grid market.”
