CABR Technology (CABRTech) Co., Ltd., the leading building design and construction software company in China, and Bentley Systems, Incorporated, the leading company dedicated to providing comprehensive software solutions for sustaining infrastructure, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU). The MOU establishes a long-term partnership between the two companies to advance building information modeling (BIM) software interoperability in China. As a first step towards this goal, CABRTech will facilitate data exchange between its PKPM structural design products and Bentley software. This initiative will provide increased information mobility among the users of PKPM software and all Bentley Integrated Structural Modeling (ISM)-enabled products, including AECOsim Building Designer – streamlining BIM workflows and resulting in increased productivity and enhanced project quality.
Under the MOU, CABRTech and Bentley also will:
· Initiate an in-depth study and collaboration to research the development of BIM software that addresses the needs of China’s engineering and construction industry, including a product portfolio spanning the infrastructure lifecycle, from design and energy consumption analysis to construction and operations;
· Explore the feasibility of cooperation in the field of application research and software development, including directed and syndicated development projects;
· Consider cooperation in other fields, including the development of joint software training, marketing programs, and other activities that will be of benefit to both CABRTech and Bentley.
Commenting on the new partnership, Mr. Xu Jiefeng, president of CABRTech, said, “Bentley is a company with strong and comprehensive capabilities. Our new MOU with Bentley is a landmark in mutual understanding and trust, and lays the groundwork for broad and in-depth cooperation between our two companies in technology, product, and business areas. We believe the cooperation can be a strong impetus to drive new technology development in China’s engineering and construction industry.”
Dr. Jean-Baptiste Monnier, senior vice president, Bentley Asia-Pacific, said, “We look forward to working with the innovative CABRTech team on important initiatives that will help take BIM workflows in China and elsewhere to a new level of productivity. Our goal is to empower structural practitioners across this region to choose the software they need for each project task while benefiting from the effectiveness of data reuse as they participate in multidisciplinary, integrated workflows. This will enable them to take full advantage of BIM best practices to reap significant business benefits and result in intelligent structural design, more successful projects, and better-performing buildings and structures of all types.”
