Call for Papers: Symposium on the Deployment of GIS in Management & Research of Historic Resources

The Historic Preservation and Collections Department at George Washington’s Mount Vernon is pleased to host our fourth one-day symposium on the deployment of GIS in the management and research of historic resources on Thursday, September 24, 2015. The Fred W. Smith National Library for the Study of George Washington will provide the setting for the symposium and we invite speakers to share their strategies and experiences on the varied uses of GIS.

If you are interested in presenting a paper on a topic related to GIS and historic resources, please submit a brief abstract by August 14, 2015.  Presentations are 30 minutes long; 20 minutes for the topic, and 10 minutes for questions. Submitters must be able to attend in person in order to present.  Please send submissions to both and
